Online gaming and sports betting operator Playtech have just secured a new licensing agreement with International Game Technology (IGT).

Under the agreement, Playtech will be allowed to offer games in the US that comes with any of the features patented within IGT’s US patent portfolio.

According to the operator, the new arrangement marks a major step in its North American expansion efforts, after they were able to secure a license in New Jersey. Playtech launched with both bet365 and BetMGM’s network in the state.

“The agreement with IGT represents another significant milestone in the growth of our presence in North America as we build on the momentum of the past few months,” Shimon Akad, Playtech chief operating officer, said.

“Working in partnership with Playtech will help propel our collective innovation and growth, and further validates our significant IP portfolio,” Nick Khin, IGT chief operating officer, also commented.

Playtech has also rolled out its information management solution (IMS) technology platform with Wplay, a Colombian operator.

This agreement will have Playtech’s IMS go live across all of Wplay’s products on both online and retail channels.

“Playtech is highly committed to future success and growth of the LatAm region, and we are seeing strong growth from our partners there and expect to see material growth for years to come,” Akad said.

Wplay’s chief marketing officer Fernanda Sainz also commented:

“This launch continues to build on our current leadership position in Colombia, helping us consistently deliver the very best user experience in the market.”
